The Pustakopahar – Book Donation Drive was successfully conducted on 27th March 2026 in the school library of PM SHRI KV Happy Valley, Shillong. The programme commenced sharply at 8:45 AM with the gracious presence of our respected Principal, Sh. D. B. Singh, along with the Senior-most PRT & HM I/C, Smt. Nanda Sharma, who formally inaugurated the event.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all sections. A large number of young learners from Classes I to V actively contributed by donating their NCERT textbooks and other useful books. Many of these students also received books through the exchange process, promoting a spirit of sharing and cooperation.
Similarly, students from Classes VI to X participated wholeheartedly. They donated their books and also received books in exchange, making the programme meaningful and beneficial for all participants.
In addition to students, parents also played an important role by participating in the drive and donating a variety of books to the library, further enriching the school’s learning resources.
The primary objective of the programme was to encourage the reuse of books, reduce paper consumption, and promote environmental conservation. The event also instilled values of sharing, responsibility, and sustainability among students.
Overall, the programme was a grand success and reflected the collective effort of students, parents, and staff in fostering eco-friendly practices and a culture of learning.
